Katherine Webster
CONTEMPORARY ARTIST

Inspired by a lifetime in the saddle and nomadic years traveling with gypsy caravans, my work explores the emotional dialogue between inner memory and outer experience. Through expressive paintings that encompass both archetypal horse forms and intuitive portraits, I capture the essence of encounters that shape us—whether with magnificent creatures or fleeting human connections.
Working with layers of acrylics, charcoal, inks, and color washes, each painting becomes an excavation of feeling where forms emerge and dissolve like half-remembered dreams. My practice centers on these emotional impressions: the marks horses leave on our hearts, the fleeting recognition in a stranger's face, and the way both ground us to something fundamental about being human—our need for connection, freedom, and authentic experience in an increasingly disconnected world.
